WELDING INSPECTOR RESPONSIBILITIES
æ Interpret all welding drawings and specifications
æ Check purchase orders to assure that welding materials and consumables have been properly specified
æ Check and identify materials as they are received against the purchase specifications
æ Check chemical compositions and mechanical properties shown on mill test reports againts spesified requirements
æ Investigate base metal imperfections and deviations
æ Check storage of filler materials
æ Check equipment to be used
æ Check weld joint preparations
æ Check joint fit-up
æ Verify the application of the approved welding procedure
æ Verify the qualifications of the welders and welding operator
æ Select production test sample
æ Evaluate the test results
æ Maintain records
æ Prepare reports.
